The Charm of Seattle
Seattle, a city with unique charm, has so much to offer. As a Chinese person living here for many years, I want to share some must-visit attractions with you.
1. Pike Place Market
Pike Place Market is my go-to spot every time I bring friends to Seattle. The market is filled with fresh seafood, handmade crafts, and of course, the original Starbucks. Don’t forget to try their signature coffee! You can expect to pay around $10-$30 for seafood, which is perfect for family meals. If you’re lucky, you might even catch the fishmongers tossing fish in the air!
2. Seattle Center
Seattle Center is a cultural hub, home to the Space Needle and various museums. Admission is about $36. While it’s not the cheapest ticket, the view from the top is absolutely worth it, especially on a clear day when you can see the Olympic Mountains in the distance!
3. Green Lake Park
If you're looking to experience Seattle’s natural beauty, Green Lake Park is a must-visit. The park has a loop trail perfect for jogging, biking, or just a leisurely walk. It’s about 2.8 miles around the lake, making it great for families to enjoy the sunshine. There are also several restaurants nearby, with lunch costing around $15-$25, ideal for family gatherings.
4. International District
The International District is the heart of the Chinese community in Seattle, bursting with authentic Chinese restaurants. I highly recommend Din Tai Fung for their mouthwatering xiao long bao (soup dumplings). Expect to spend about $20-$40 per person, perfect for a meal with friends. You should also check out the local supermarkets for some Chinese spices and snacks.
