The 11th annual New York World Dance Carnival will kick off on May 20, 2017! More than 10,000 dancers from more than 150 dance organizations gathered on Broadway to perform more than 80 styles of dazzling dance. The live audience reached 100,000, and the media broadcast it reached 1 million. It is the largest and most diverse dance festival in the world. New York is the metropolis with the largest Chinese population in the world outside of East Asia. The overall strength and influence of the Chinese community is extraordinary. This year we set up a China Committee. On the one hand, we will assist Chinese dance troupes to participate and highlight Chinese dance and culture. On the other hand, we will actively introduce this event to the Chinese community and promote multicultural exchanges. We hereby call on all Chinese in New York to join hands in the dance carnival: • If you have your own dance team, please join our float parade. Whether it is traditional Chinese dance or modern dance, you represent the elegance of the entire Chinese community; • If you are a business operator, you are welcome to fund our activities and help the Chinese dance team make a wonderful appearance. You will be exposed to an audience of 100,000 people and receive publicity from major TV, radio, newspapers and online media; • If you are in the media, please work with us to report and promote this event; • If you are a member of the Chinese community in New York, please come to the site to revel with us on the day and applaud the performance of the Chinese dance team. Dance team registration We welcome more dance teams to join, registration link: Participate in the Carnival float parade, incorporate more than 80 kinds of dances from around the world, and enjoy the carnival in Tompkins Park Plaza. You will also be eligible to join our paid education project to provide art and cultural education services to children, the elderly, and community organizations in the five major boroughs of New York. This event charges a nominal registration fee of US$50. If you bring your own transportation or float to enter, you will need to pay an additional US$60. New York Dance Police! – Call for Volunteers Yes, you read that right, the New York Dance Police (NYDP) is here! Becoming our NYDP volunteer, you will receive a privilege on the day of the carnival: New York police officer Qiao Zhuangcheng patrols to "ensure" that the audience is fully integrated into the dance, "teaches" the melon eaters who do not dance with everyone, and issues a coupon "ticket". Its annual carnival is the largest and most diverse dance festival in the world. The "11th Annual New York World Dance Carnival" will lead nearly 200 dance groups to celebrate the 2017 theme of "Dancing for Peace" with more than 80 dances. What types of dances will be included? The New York World Dance Festival brings together traditional and contemporary dance.
