Description
Students who plan to study abroad in the United States may not know much about the U.S. study visa. Today, the editor of the American Higher Education Network will introduce to you the easily overlooked details of the U.S. study visa. Let’s take a look! 1. The difference between a visa and a passport: Visa: First, you apply to the foreign embassy or consulate in China; second, you entrust a China Travel Service agency to apply to the foreign embassy or consulate in China; third, it is processed by relatives and friends abroad. Passport: Application for a passport should be made at the Exit-Entry Management Section of the Public Security Bureau in the applicant’s place of residence. The passport is the basis, and the signature is usually signed on the passport. 2. What is an "invalid passport"? 1. The passport is damaged and affects normal use; 2. The passport itself has expired; 3. The passport has been stolen or lost. 3. What to do if the passport is invalid and the passport is damaged: the holder needs to apply for a replacement passport. Passport expired: You need to apply for a passport replacement. After a new passport is issued, the original passport will be canceled and returned to the applicant. Passport stolen or lost: After the relevant agency issues a certificate of loss and the holder applies for a passport reissue, the original passport will automatically become invalid. Can the old and new passports be used together if the expired passport is valid? Generally speaking, when the staff invalidates the old passport, they will use scissors to cut off a small triangle in the passport, usually the entire passport. If the passport is still valid, communicate with the staff and keep the valid visa intact, and just cut the other parts into triangles. Then, the new and old passports can be used at the same time. Countries that allow foreign citizens to use old and new passports together: the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Peru, Schengen Agreement countries (except Finland), etc. Please consult the embassy or consulate of the relevant country for details. 4. The passport is valid for less than 6 months. Is there any problem when leaving the country? Each country has different requirements for the validity period of the passport during entry inspection (generally more than 6 months, but also more than 3 months). The validity period is calculated in different ways (some from the date of departure, some from the date of arrival). Therefore, you need to confirm first: 1. Confirm the entry regulations of the destination; 2. Ensure that the validity period of the passport meets the requirements. 5. The destination country is visa-free and there is no blank page in the passport. Even if the destination is a visa-free country, the passport still needs to be stamped when entering and exiting, so the border inspection at the place of departure is very likely to require at least one blank page in the passport. Travelers who do not meet the requirements may be refused to leave the country. 6. Can an expired visa be torn off? In the case of an invalid visa (for example, if there are missing pages in the passport, the passport has been painted on, or the used visa information is unclear/it has been removed), border inspection or embassy or consulate officials may believe that the holder deliberately concealed the true personal information and exit records, and if the passport is refused release or rejection, the passport will be invalidated. 7. What is the "blacklist" for overseas visas? The "blacklist" for overseas visas: a list of foreigners who are not welcomed by a country for some reason and whose entry is restricted. These people's applications for visas to this country are often rejected, and some are even permanently rejected. 8. What to do after being refused a visa? Being refused a visa once does not mean that the visa is permanently refused. Applicants can apply again after a certain period of time according to the requirements of the embassy. When applying, you need to provide: 1. Sufficient and credible application materials; 2. Good resume and records.
